Chapter 31
- Willow kept taking steps backwards, one after the other. Until she bumped against a cabinet and was forced to make a stop. Simon caught up to her then. He placed his palm on either sides of her on the cabinet and leaned closer to her. Her breath came out in short pants at his nearness. His eyes were focused on her so steadily. Too intent. She wished he would look at something else. But then, if he did, she would just miss the scorching intensity of his gaze.
- "Every time I hold you, you run away. You're scared of this burn that threatens to consume you when I'm near."
- "Wow, egoistical much." Willow gave a short laugh. "You're wrong."
