Chapter 25
- For Scott, the day has hit him with surprises, one after the other. First, was the realization that the woman sitting before him could upset his well laid out plans. Telling her to move into his penthouse was a test for him to see how far his control went where she was concerned. Right now, he wasn't sure if that has been a smart move. When he returned home from work, he had asked the staff if they have settled Willow's things in his room but they had all given him blank looks, telling him they didn't receive any such instruction. Scott had gone to Willow's room in annoyance. He had the thought that she must have chosen to not do as he said. He went to her room prepared to take her — carry her, if it came to it — up to his penthouse. But then, she hadn't been in her room. Her empty closet had given him a fright. Did she leave? That was the second surprise the day hit him with — the way he felt at the thought that Willow left.
- Scott had hurried up to his penthouse, encouraged by the fact that his staff would have alerted him if Willow had indeed packed her things to leave. Notwithstanding, the relief he had felt at seeing the entrance to his closet open and finding Willow in there had been staggering. The third surprise had come at how willing he had been to give her his well treasured baseball cap. The cap once belonged to a professional player, but that was not why he cherished it. He got it on on a day he went with his father to watch a live match, as a boy.
- The contrasting, yet suiting sight of Willow's clothes next to his had not annoyed him but pleased him. So immensely that when Willow made to pass him on her way out of the space, he had moved far away from her, unnecessarily. He was scared. Scared of these thoughts she unravelled in him. The great billionaire business man was scared of the alluring woman that he prositioned to be his fiancee! 'Fake fiancee,' he had to remind himself.
