Chapter 27

  • Scott was awake but very reluctant to leave the bed. It wasn't so much the comfort he was unwilling to leave but the sleeping beauty in his bed. Last night, when she beckoned him to come sleep on the bed, his very being had leapt with satisfaction. She was beginning to trust him.
  • Although, there were other rooms in his penthouse, Willow didn't seem to know or she would have asked to be moved into a separate room. He wondered what she'll think after she's had the time to explore. No doubt, she'll wonder then why he'd insisted they share the same room, more so, why he would relegate himself to sleeping on the sofa-bed on the first night he brought her, when there were other rooms. If and when, she did ask, Scott realized he would have no answer to give. None that would be sensible anyway.
  • He watched her sleep. She stirred and few strands of her hair fell over her face and he wanted so much to reach out and brush them back. He was saved from the compelling need when she opened her eyes. For a minute, it seemed she would fall right back to sleep but she didn't. Rather she sat up quickly and then turned to look at him. Simon saw the moment the events from the past night dawned on her memory because she blushed and fumbled with words that were inaudible. Simon thought to save her from her plight. "Good morning," He greeted her still lying down on the bed.
