Chapter 8

• James intervened, saying, "Aunty, don't worry; I will take care of my fiancé."
• Alice smiled, kissed Alexa's face, and said, "Baby, rest at home, I will ask the butler to prepare your medicine, sleep well after taking medicines" after that, Alice left both of them alone.
• After Alice left, James held Alexa's hand firmly and walked out of the party hall; Alexa was hell scared of what she had just done.
• But she was furious, how could he steal her first kiss like this? he also left a hickey on her neck. Does he know how hard it was for her to hide it with everyone's eyes?
• She thought he would surely punish her for slapping him; everyone knows about his temper. No one in his life has ever hit him, not even his parents, and she did it, he will definitely kill her tonight.
• She thought she wouldn't see tomorrow's sun, she wanted to pull her hands back from his grip, but at the same time, she didn't want to create a scene in front of guests, so she followed him obediently.
• He took her to the parking lot and made her sit on the passenger seat.
• After he settled on the driver's seat, he said coldly, "Seat belt."
• Alexa immediately pulled the seat belt and tied it. 
• Drive for home was around an hour; Alexa was hell scared, but she was so exhausted because she was crying so much that she didn't realize it when she dozed off.
• James watched all her actions from the corner of his eyes, he had a cold expression on his face all the time, but when he saw her sleeping so cutely, his heart melted immediately.
• He drove carefully, trying to slowly cross the road bumpers, not to disturb her sleep.
• The next morning when Alexa opened her eyes, she found herself in a new place; it was not her room.
• Memories from last night flashed in her mind, and she thought that James must have killed her. And she was already in heaven because the view of this place was no less than heaven.
• The room's interior was so beautiful and simple in white color; she thought she was already dead, and she is in heaven, but what she was more curious about was how James killed her that she doesn't even remember it.
• She tried to get up to explore heaven more, but at this moment, she realized that she was sleeping in someone's arms; when she turned her face to look at the face of the owner of arms, she screamed and said, "You also died with me?"
• James woke up because of her screaming and what he heard after waking up, he was utterly confused, and he said in a husky voice, “What nonsense are you talking?”
• Even though he was trying to show that he was angry, the overloaded cuteness on Alexa’s face was making it hard for him to be angry, and when he looked at her dress his throat went dry.
• She was wearing his shirt, which he only changed yesterday night when she was not ready to get up.
• He remembers how hard he controlled himself from doing anything.
• Alexa was still dumb and thought that they both died and said, “I know, you were angry for hitting you and you wanted to kill me but how did you die?”
• Now James lost his control. He was wondering how a girl could look so cute, he understood what was going in her little mind.
• He pulled Alexa in his arms and kissed her passionately and said, “I think now you got your answer” saying he got up from the bed and walked to the bathroom.
• Alexa was still sitting dumbfounded on her place, she doesn’t know which place is this and how she ended up here and what was James doing with her.
• She was looking around when all of sudden she found that she was not in her dress which she wore last night, she was wearing a long oversized white shirt.
• Her face turned red when the thought crossed her mind that James might have changed her dress. She was so embarrassed, how could she be so careless.
• As she was lost in thoughts, her phone rang. It was Alice’s call she immediately picked the call, thinking that Alice must be worried as she didn’t go home last night.
• She said, “Hello Mom”
• Alice said in a loving tone, “Sweety, how is your headache now, bring James also for breakfast, he was really great to help to take you to his place and take care of you”
• Alexa now understood what must have happened, she might have slept in his car while on the way to home and he brought her to his place, when the word ‘his place’ hit her mind she looked around.
• Observing everything closely, she never visited his house since shifted out of Dylan’s house.
• Not hearing any reply from Alexa’s end, Alice said, “Alexa, are you there?”
• Alexa came out of her thoughts and said, “Oh! Ya, Ya Mom I will ask James to accompany us for breakfast”
• After hanging up the call, Alexa thought about what she had done just now, how she can be so stupid and think that she is in heaven, she was so embarrassed.
• At first, she thought she would ask James if he would like to join her family for breakfast, so she was waiting for him to come out of the bathroom, but his phone rang and the name flashed on the screen was Olivia. 
• She frowned but she thought not to think much about it, it can be a business call and the phone got hung up after ringing for a long time.
• But after sometime it again started ringing and was again from Olivia, at that moment James came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel.
• He walked to his phone and seeing the name on the screen, he looked at Alexa and said coldly, “you can go out I need to attend this call”
• Alexa felt hurt, because of his attitude and his cold behavior. She nodded and walked out of his bedroom.
• She thought that they are already engaged then why can't he talk to Olivia, whoever she is! In front of her again the thought that he must be marrying her because of his parent’s pressure.
• At first, she thought she will wait for him, but after waiting for ten minutes he didn’t come out of his room so, she, walked out of his house and booked a cab and first went to a mall to buy something to wear, as she, was wearing his shirt and she doesn’t want to go home in his dress.
• Her hurt was in pain, she was stopping herself for thinking of any relation between James and Olivia, but the question her mind was countering was, ‘if there is nothing then, why can’t he talk in front of her, what took him so long to finish the call? , and many questions like these.
