Chapter 7

• After calming herself down, Alexa came out of the bathroom. Alex and Dylan went to the stage, and Alex said, smiling ear to ear, it was visible that he was very happy with this engagement.
• "Hello everyone, thank you so much for pulling out time from your busy schedule and attending my daughter's engagement."
• "We know that everyone is suspicious about who is my son-in-law? so let me break the suspense and start the engagement ceremony."
• "My son-in-law is someone whom I know from his childhood, I have seen him growing up. He is the son of a person who is like my younger brother; he is James Millers, son of Dylan Millers."
• "I trust James a lot when it comes on my daughter; initially, I wanted to find a person to marry my daughter and stay with us in our house because I don't trust anyone when it comes to Alexa, and I don't want Alexa to stay with someone unknown to us."
• "But James, he is different; he gave me the trust that he will take care of my Alexa, and keep her happy, so please welcome James." James walked to the stage and hugged Alex, smiling a little.
• Hall was filled with applause and cheerfulness, but one person felt like the sky had fallen on her; it was Alexa.
• Before she could react, Alice held her hand and started walking towards the stage. When Alexa reached the stage, she saw James standing there straight, showing no emotions on his face.
• Alexa had many emotions flowing inside her; she was happy, she was excited that she would marry whom she loves so much, but at the same time, she was scared and nervous also.
• James stood in front of her and slowly held her hand to put the ring on her finger, but Alexa's hand was shivering. James thought she didn't want to marry him; he didn't give a shit about her feelings, held her hand tightly, and harshly pushed the ring in her finger.
• It hurt Alexa, but she endured the pain, but her heart's pain was much more than the pain outside.
• She thought that he doesn't want to marry her, he must be doing it because of his parent's pressure, so he is angry.
• She also slowly put the ring on his finger; everyone applauded and congratulated the couple. 
• After some time, Alexa was tired of giving everyone a fake smile, so she excused herself and went to the bathroom.
• Alexa was standing in front of the mirror, the bathroom was empty, there was no one apart from her; she took the support of the island and tried to control herself hard, but James's angry face was flashing in her mind, and her tears were unstoppable.
• While she was trying to control her emotions, she heard the door opening; she thought it must be some guest; she immediately took tissues and wiped her tears and washed her face.
• Before she could wipe her face and dry it, she was suddenly pulled in someone's arms, she panicked and looked up, pushing the person, but when she saw the person's face, her blood froze; it was James.
• He looked pissed, and he said, grinding his teeth, holding her in his arms, "You are not happy, right? because you want to go back to London?"
• Alexa didn't understand what he was saying, but before she could open her mouth to ask him what he is talking about, he kissed her passionately.
• It was the first kiss of both of them, but James was good at it, but Alexa didn't even know to accept the kiss; she was suffocating, punching on his chest. 
• But James continued avoiding her struggle. Tears started rolling her cheeks, at the same time, they heard a voice outside the bathroom, as if someone was about to enter.
• In a blink of an eye, James picked Alexa and entered one bathroom and pinned her to the wall, but his lips never left her lips; the softness of her lips was making it hard to control him.
• After a few minutes, he left her lips and started kissing on her neck and collar bone. Alexa pressed her lips tightly so that her sobbing voice won't go out, and people outside would hear it.
• But what James did next, Alexa was dumbstruck.
• James slid down the strap of her dress from one shoulder and started kissing her fiercely, leaving a hickey.
• Alexa suppressed her voice by pressing her palm tightly on her mouth; the moment she heard the main door of the bathroom closed, she was sure that person went out; she pushed James with all her strength and slapped James on his face and ran out of the bathroom straightening her dress and wiping her tears.
• James was standing there stunned; he could not believe that he was slapped by his would-be wife and that too on the day of their engagement.
• He also realized that what he did was wrong, he lost his senses when he saw her crying, he can't bear to see tears in her eyes but the thought of her going away from him made him lose his temper.
• He straightened his clothes and walked out of the ladies bathroom, but he didn't go to the party hall directly; he walked towards a balcony and smoked, lost in his thoughts, by the time he came back to the party hall, the slap mark on his face faded away a little.
• When he entered the party hall, he saw Alexa standing with Alice; her eyes were swollen. It hurt him to her like this.
• He thought that she must have told everything to Alice; Alice waved at him; he walked to Alice thinking what to say to them when she asked about his behavior just now.
• He walked to Alice and stood in front of Alice and Alexa; Alice said, "Oh dear, Alexa is not feeling well; she has a severe migraine headache. Can you please drop your fiancé home? We still need to entertain the guests."
• Alexa tried to interrupt, "Mom, it's fine; I can go with the driver."
