Chapter 2 Not to Be Exposed

  • Hupo was well-behaved like a cat as she remained quiet and unresponsive.
  • All of a sudden, Ke Beichen lost his temper. He bit down hard, spreading the flavor of blood through his mouth and nose. But, Hupo remained quiet in his arms.
  • She was letting him do whatever he pleased. But, the more she acted like that, the more annoyed the man felt.
  • As he kicked open the glass door with one swift movement, candlelight slowly glowed out from the room. A circle of warm light was created by candles on the dining table.
  • Ke Beichen ran his eyes across the 6 dishes and 1 soup on the table. Amongst the dishes were 4 that Hupo had brought to Dynasty Restaurant earlier that night. “Lan Hupo, you did it on purpose, didn’t you?”
  • Did she deliberately do it to ruin things between him and Meng Qinqin?
  • Hupo revealed a slight smile, “That’s right, on a day like this, I wanted to see you eat my cooking. Beichen, let’s have a drink together.”
  • As she spoke, she struggled out of Ke Beichen’s arms and landed gently on her feet. She then dragged him over to sit at the dining table.
  • Hupo filled a wine glass with dark red wine and said, “Beichen, cheers.”
  • As soon as her clear voice resounded, Hupo lifted her wine glass and finished it in one go.
  • She then filled another glass, “Beichen, I’m so happy to have met you. It’s been 3 years. Thank you for helping me believe in love...” and cruelty.
  • After drinking 3 consecutive glasses of wine, Hupo began to feel a little drunk. With her eyes slightly squinted, she grabbed one mouthful of each dish and piled them onto Ke Beichen’s plate, “The dishes are a little cold. Do you want me to heat it up?”
  • Ke Beichen looked into her slightly drunken eyes and ate the food that she had grabbed for him in a few bites. “That’s not necessary. I’d rather eat you.”
  • Hupo was carried up the spiral staircase and thrown onto the bed. Along the way, pieces of clothing, both outerwear and inner wear, littered the carpeted floor.
  • Hupo was passionate. More passionate than she had ever been. But, Ke Beichen wanted more.
  • That night, he did not let go of her and allow her to sleep until the sun came up.
  • By the time Hupo woke up, the spot next to her was completely empty.
  • She got up and packed her suitcase, only taking a few daily supplies with her; she didn’t want a single item that Ke Beichen had bought her.
  • In her hands, she held an examination report.
  • She was pregnant.
  • Originally, she planned to tell Ke Beichen about it the previous night, but he already answered her with his attitude. It seemed, it didn’t matter if she got rid of the child.
  • She did not like the identity of an illegitimate child.
  • No matter how much she loved this child, she did not want it to be an illegitimate child.
  • That entire afternoon, Ke Beichen’s eyelids twitched continuously as he sat on his big executive chair.
  • He had a feeling that something was about to happen.
  • All of a sudden, his phone began to ring. It was a call from someone that he had planted beside Hupo.
  • “What’s wrong?”
  • “Miss Lan is at the hospital.”
  • Ke Beichen’s chest tightened, “What’s wrong with her?” She was fine last night and didn’t look sick at all.
  • “Miss Lan has made an appointment for an abortion. The surgery is about to start,” his subordinate reported. On the other end of the phone, the busy sounds of a hospital could be heard.
  • The Lamborghini sped past 150km/h. By the time Ke Beichen arrived at the operating theater, Hupo was already lying on the operating table with her eyes closed.
  • She was lying in a pose that was Ke Beichen’s favorite; it was a pose that usually drove him to ecstasy. But, at that moment, it was a pose used to take away his child’s life.
  • “Get off there,” Ke Beichen said as he dragged Lan Hupo off the table.
  • Hupo stood bare-footed on the ice-cold floor as she gently lifted her head to look at him, “Why are you here?”
  • “When did you find out?” Ke Beichen roared angrily as he ignored her stubbornness.
  • “Are you concerned?” Hupo scoffed. Could she tell him that she found out the previous day? Could she tell him that she personally prepared 6 dishes and 1 soup because, firstly, she wanted to celebrate their 3-year relationship, and secondly, she wanted to surprise him with news of her pregnancy?
  • That everything was ruined because of his one sentence?
  • He told her that apart from marriage, he could give her anything.
  • But, the only thing that she wanted, was marriage. Not to be secret lover.
