Chapter 21 The Honeymoon

• After training, I went to the room Alaric and I shared in the west wing of the Palace. I didn't leave with Alaric as he was called for an urgent meeting with the pack elders and the council. I overhead them talking about something like strengthening pack defense. I still don't know much about pack politics, but I knew the pack elders look down on me because I am a woman.
• I walked into the bathroom and slipped into the warm embrace of the bath that the pack's omega had prepared for me. The water was very soothing and the fragrance from the herbs helped to calm me down and soothe my sore muscles. I leaned back, allowing the warmth of the water to envelop me.
• I heard the door creak open, and my heart fluttered with excitement. I opened my eyes to see my mate stepping into the room, a playful grin lightening his face and amusement dancing across his eyes.
