• I looked up at Jack and saw the apology in his eyes. I nodded and said, "Yes, I've thought about it. I've been too cold with you. And between spouses, it's not about forgiveness."
• Jack was taken aback for a moment, and then his eyes sparkled with happiness. "Sofia, are you kidding?"
• He had been expecting me to still be angry and he would need to spend time appeasing me. To his surprise, my attitude had improved overnight. I was no longer as distant and stubborn as before.
