Chapter 15
- Jack hurried forward and kneeled beside Harrison. "Dad, don't worry. I'll be good to Sofia always."
- "Mm. Just be good to her, that's all I ask."
- When Harrison's eyelids started to droop from the lingering effects of the anesthesia, I called out to him right away. "Dad, the anesthesia isn't fully effective yet. You cannot sleep." Jack and I alternated watching over Harrison all night long. As the morning approached, the anesthetic began to wear off, and Harrison was finally able to sleep. Somewhat after sunrise, Wren stopped in with some freshly made soup. "Sofia, Jack, you two stayed up all night. You should go home now. I'll keep an eye on things here."
