Chapter 78

• **EVE'S POV**
• When I got to work later, I sat down at my desk and sent a short straightforward message to my father. I wasn't asking him for permission or his opinion. I simply wanted to give him a heads up that soon, Morgan would be aware of our scheme. A part of me felt like I was being unfairly, especially because Jeffery and Morgana had adopted me from the orphanage and raised me in their own home.
• Morgana and Cindy might not treat me like family, but at least Jeffery did his best. It was for his sake that a part of me felt awful about revealing their secret. But I couldn't keep allowing them to use me for their benefit while deceiving another innocent person in the process. I felt that even if they had kept their promise, I wouldn't have been able to keep deceiving Morgan any longer. Not with the way things had turned out to be.
