• DANIEL'S POV
• I blinked in astonishment as I looked from Eve to the strange man. Had I heard her right? Husband? Her husband? When did she get married?.
• I cleared my throat and leaned back in my seat, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. From the morning he had seen Eve at the flower shop on her first day at work, I had been thinking of how to win her affection. Earlier, when she asked me to dinner, my hopes had shot to a new high. Not once did I imagine that she could be married.
