• Yvonne had wasted an entire afternoon yesterday, and she planned to finish up her remaining tasks today before Julius gave her more assignments. However, she did not expect the research institute to call for a newcomer’s meeting. She obediently headed over to join the meeting; there were less than five newcomers that month, and three other men were already in the room by the time Yvonne got there. One of them waved at her when he saw her. He then said, “That’s a coincidence—we’re in the same batch.” She simply nodded politely before she asked out of curiosity, “Why exactly are we having this meeting?”
