Chapter 19
- I screamed and threw myself at Damien. I was kicking, clawing, biting and completely feral. My wolf surged to the surface, turning my vision red at the edges. But beneath the rage was something worse.
- Helplessness. Pure, suffocating helplessness.
- Damien stumbled back from my assault, surprise flickering across his face. For a moment I thought he might relent. Then his expression hardened again, with wounded pride overtaking whatever flicker of conscience had surfaced.
