• Julie left for home, feeling under the weather. She said she would resume our remaining shopping tomorrow. It’s already late in the evening, and Olivia was tired from the trip, so I put her in the crib. I walked downstairs to ask the maid about Damon. The maid had no idea where Damon might be; she only mentioned that she saw him in the afternoon with Dexter and Witch Hilda in his office.
• Why did Witch Hilda come? Is there a problem I’m not aware of? I walked towards Damon’s office, which was locked and soundproofed. I know Damon uses soundproofing so I can’t hear anything. I tried to break the door open, but nothing happened. I stood there, thinking back to when Damon had asked me to check a diary if I ever noticed anything strange in it. It’s odd—when I asked Damon why he wanted me to do that, he said his eyes were infected. To be honest, he seemed fine the next day, so he just wanted me to see if there was anything unusual or if the pages were blank. It struck me that I had seen a similar journal, which was magically sealed, in Damon’s office. I need to ask him about it.
