Chapter 39 Chase

• Xavier run through the thick forest, paws pounding against the rough forest ground. His body weaved through the large trees in an attempt to have their scent spread everywhere so it would be hard to track them.
• He knew the stink bombs would do the job, it messing with his sense of smell despite not being the target, but it was better to be safe than sorry. As he ran, his ears picked up sounds of various wild animals and Clare panting a little in exhaustion.
• He knew he had to make a stop so she could rest. Xavier didn’t want her falling off of him. Suddenly hearing the trickling of water nearby, Xavier made a hard right, Clare’s grip on his fur tightening.
