- Early the next day, I took the check Alessandro had given me to cash it out at the bank. The bank didn’t open until eight am, my morning shift was supposed to start by eight but that could wait.
- When I finally got into the bank, I cashed the money and transferred half of it to Maria’s card. I asked her to go to the market and get enough foodstuffs and provisions to stock up the house.
