Chapter 3
- SAMSON
- It had been six years already and the memory of the sex I had with that lady hadn't left my head. I sent my most trusted chief security to go look for her but they kept coming back with no results.
- “Why?” I kept asking myself. Did she suddenly disappear into the thin air? The only mistake I made was asking her to not remove her mask. Now, I couldn't help but regret it.
- I felt drawn to her, the way her body moved, her soft moans. I wasn't sure I would be able to forget her though.
- Deeply immersed in my thoughts, I walked into one of the hotels I had to my name and then I saw this graceful young lady.
- Obviously, she was the cleaner and was in charge of maintaining the hotel's neatness but that was the first time I ever saw her. She was mopping the large corridor effortlessly.
- I decided to approach her, just to get familiar with her.
- “Okay, my work is done here,” I heard her say loudly and she gathered her tools before she walked into the elevator.
- Almost immediately, I stepped into the elevator just as the doors were about closing. I pretended to be in a rush while I, indeed had nowhere important to be at.
- “Hello miss,” I said, half expecting a response from her judging that she didn't even know she was working in my hotel.
- “Hi,” She replied, raising head. As her eyes met mine, they widened in surprise.
- I tried to muffle the laughter that threatened to escape from my throat. Obviously, she didn't expect to have company in the elevator.
- The soft fragrance of her perfume hit my nose and it smelt familiar. I couldn't remember where I perceived that fragrance but it could be from any of the numerous people I met daily.
- I punched the buttons on the elevator wall and an eerie silence fell between us afterwards.
- “Excuse me,” her voice came from behind me. “Can I pass?” She asked politely, her voice tinged with a familiar tone.
- “Ohh, I'm sorry.” I said hastily. In my absent mindedness, I didn't realise that the elevator had stopped.
- She had gotten to the floor she wanted to be at. I stepped aside for her to get to the door.
- We both waited for the doors to open but they didn't. Five minutes had passed and I could sense some danger.
- “Fuck!” I cursed loudly, my voice dominated by anger. “Everyone on that maintenance team is getting fired.”
- “What is happening? Do you work here?” She asked, failing to hide the fear now in her voice.
- I ignored the questions as I hurriedly searched for my phone in my pockets, so I could inform them of the mishap. I found my phone and quickly texted my personal assistant.
- I looked at the lady beside me to try to assure her but she was in a state of disorientation. Sweat had started to drip from her forehead and she shook furiously.
- “What's wrong?” I asked as I swiftly caught on to her as she collapsed to the ground.
- Gently, I sat on the ground, still holding her firmly. The pace of her breathing has increased, as she gasped for air.
- “Fe…ar, fe…ar, enclosed spaces.” She struggled to say.
- “Shhh, shhh. Calm down, calm down,” I whispered into her ears, as she held my hand tightly.
- “I totally understand, dear. Help is on its way and soon we will be out of here.” I reassured her in the best way I could.
- She shook her head frantically, driving me into further confusion.
- “I don't know how long I am going to be in here but I can't leave Ace for so long after his dismissal hour in school,” She said, after she had calmed down abit.
- “Uhmm, I'm so sorry that this happened thereby bringing ruins to your planned schedule.” I apologized.
- “Do you work here?” She asked, as she placed her head on my shoulder as we were sprawled on the floor waiting for my miserable maintenance team to come fix the issue.
- I chuckled before I replied, “I own the hotel and the team in charge of technical problems will hear from me after we get out of here.”
- “Wow, I'm so sorry. I didn't know you own this place, I had only just finished cleaning up the environment.” She said, as she quickly lifted her head from my shoulder and made to shift from beside.
- I caught her hand and pulled her back.
- “No, don't do that. Come here and stay with me,” I said to her.
- She flashed a weak smile and obliged, returning her head back to my shoulder.
- “Lately, I have been carrying a huge load on my head. It just seems like the world has come crashing on me from the day I was born,” She said slowly in a defeated tone.
- I moved slightly and lifted her head from my shoulder and stared deep into her eyes.
- “You can tell me anything. If you feel like you should let the burden out of your chest, then I assure you that you can talk to me. I'll be patient and listen to you attentively.” I said and patted her shoulders.
- She continued, “My dad left me and my mom when I was little. My mom worked so hard to provide for me. She did so many jobs in the past just to put food on my table,”
- “Because of the absence of a dad in my life, my relationships keep failing. The men believed that I was insecure and I had many issues. I don't know what it feels like to be loved by a man and not fear that the next person that came into my life, would leave because of my struggles and poor background,”
- “I remember been bullied so much in school too,”
- “My mom barely ate on most days. She worked as a cleaner, she worked on people's farms, she laboured in factories and warehouses. I watched her cry silently every night but I could do nothing,”
- “Not until the day she fell seriously sick. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer in its early stage. Life instantly started for me at that moment. I cleaned every office, house, hotels, just to get paid so I could get medications for me mom,”
- “I stopped school to concentrate on her. But the money wasn't coming regularly and it always came in bits and pieces. This made her medication and treatments to come in slowly,”
- “Over the years, her health has deteriorated. I pray fervently everyday for my mom to bounce back and I know she will. I am determined to do everything I can for my mom,”
- “Currently, I work at Softbound technology but my boss is the harshest man I have ever worked with.”
- I let out a deep sigh after she ended her story. I was extremely surprised that a lady like her had all these going on and still managed to hold a warm smile.
- “Come here.” I said and stood up
- Spreading my arms wide, I urged her to stand up too. She stood up and came into his waiting arms.
- I held her tightly to myself.
- “It's all going to be okay, I promise you,” I spoke softly into her ear.
- “My name is Samson Young by the way.” I finally said my name.
- “Sir, you're still my boss and I am deeply sorry if I made you uncomfortable,”
- “Hey, hey, young lady don't do that,” I said, lifting her face up to stare into my eyes.
- “What is your name?” I asked.
- “My name is Victoria Walls.”
- And just then, the doors of the elevator opened wide with the maintenance team just in front of the door. My personal assistant is just beside them as well.
- Thanking me and the te
- am, she stepped out of the elevator which had had me trapped with the beautiful stranger, her phone rang.
- “What? Ace did what?” I heard her scream.
- “Who was Ace though?” I asked nobody in particular but I genuinely wanted to know though.
