Chapter 2
- VICTORIA
- “I'm glad you are awake,” Brianna said, cupping my hand in hers.
- “What happened Brianna, why am I here?” I asked my friend.
- There was a doctor standing close to my bed and I turned to him, what happened to me sir?” I asked, a puzzled look evident on my face.
- “You fainted at your workplace and your colleagues brought you here,” He offered an answer, as he frantically jotted down some things on his flat booklet.
- With his thumb, he opened my eyelids to reveal my popping eyeballs. He nodded and took a step back.
- “Victoria, we have conducted some tests on you and it appears that you are pregnant and you are three weeks gone. Congratulations, Victoria Walls,” The doctor said to me.
- My heart raced wildly, I placed my hands on my stomach. I was so happy. George had always wanted a child, this news will bring him so much happiness.
- I looked at Brianna, her cheeks were wide with continuous smiling. She hugged me and said, “Congratulations, my friend. I know you have always wanted this,”
- My hands circled around her body and I squeezed her gently to my body, “Thank you, Brianna. You don't know how happy I am,” I said and with the back of my hand, I wiped off the small drop of tear that fell from my eyes.
- I smiled up at the doctor, who had a gentle smile on his face, “thank you, doctor for this wonderful news. Can I go home now?” I asked.
- “Yes, you can go home, congratulations once again,” He offered me his hands for a handshake.
- “I need to go break this news to George,”
- Those were the only words I chanted in my mind, as I rushed out of the hospital with Brianna.
- “Slow down, Victoria. You are carrying my godbaby,” Brianna said, laughing out loud.
- I got into Brianna's car and she drove me to my boyfriend's house.
- I got to his house from the hospital in thirty minutes. I got to the door and knocked but I didn't get an answer.
- That was unusual because George always answers his door immediately. I knocked about six times and yet no response.
- Impulsively, I placed my hand on the doorknob and turned it. I was shocked when the door opened freely.
- “How could he forget to lock his door?” I thought.
- I worried, “What if he was in danger? What if burglars had invaded the house?”
- Confused, I braced myself up and stepped into the house, “Anybody home?” I called out.
- I received no response, instead I heard soft moans that seemed to come from his bedroom. I prayed silently as I approached the room. I prayed it was not my Goerge fucking another woman.
- Then I heard a man's deep moans and something that sounded like some ass slapping. I was visibly trembling by the time I got to the door, “George?” I called out his name, my voice shrill and sharp.
- “Victoria?” He turned his head behind him to meet my gaze. On the bed I thought belonged to just the two of us, he was behind this beautiful, flawless lady. Her ass glued to his groin.
- And the way I caught him stroking her hard? He had never dedicated such privilege to me.
- I just knew that I would never forget this particular image I saw today.
- Tears streamed down my face. I yelled, “George, what are you doing?”
- I didn't know how I gathered the strength to still have stood here. Ordinarily, I should have walked out.
- He struggled to put on his trousers as he approached me, almost tumbling to the ground but he cut himself up in time.
- “Victoria, please you should go home,” He said, with such audacity in a hoarse tone.
- I looked straight to the woman, who was still lying on the bed naked, all I could focus on was the smile of mockery that played on her lips.
- I looked back at George and held his gaze, all my eyes could do was to plead with him. I loved him so much and I didn't want to lose him.
- “Could this mean he doesn't even love me?” My heart and body desperately searched for answers.
- “George, I came to___”
- “Oh yeah, this is the governor's daughter and we are about to get married,” He interrupted me rudely and with a smirk on his face.
- My legs shook dangerously underneath me and my heart began to pound against my chest walls furiously.
- He continued, “The last game I developed years ago, that one I had lost all hope on. You remember?”
- “Well, I generated of alot of revenue from it. It has made massive sales, even close to ten million dollars. I just want to thank you for the intelligent ideas you gave me but I can't be with you,” His voice dripped with mockery instead of a soft tone of appreciation.
- My lips quivered, “I_I_” but I could barely take out any word from my mouth.
- “The governor is so impressed and he has decided to take me to a whole different level with his daughter,” His right hand stretched towards the lady on the bed, his index finger sticking out firmly.
- Just then, she giggled.
- “I don't want to be seen anywhere with a pauper like you Victoria, it would tarnish my image and destroy the growth of my business,” His eyes widened, threatening to fall out of their sockets.
- My heart raged with annoyance and hate, I placed my two hands on my tummy and said within me, “hey baby, I promise to love you and put you first before any other thing. I would protect you from the wolves and sharks of the outside world.”
- I gathered an extraordinary strength, I was still hurting from what George did to me but he would never set eyes on my precious baby.
- As I stepped out of the doors of his house forever, the breeze
- played gently on my face, giving me a renewed hope and joy. I was going to be the pillar on which my child leaned on.
- Little did I know that in years to come, my actions were going to affect me and my child in ways I could never have thought of.
