- I froze.
- My breath caught in my throat as Damien's weight pinned me beneath him his hands wrapped around my wrists like shackles, his knees holding my legs in place. I tried to move, but it was like being caught under a collapsing building. My body didn’t listen. I was stuck. Trapped between fear… and something else I didn’t want to name.
- This had to be a dream. Some twisted, feverish illusion my mind had conjured from the shadows of my past. It couldn’t be real.
