Chapter 57

  • NOVEMBER
  • The moment Sean walks away, the cool air hits my skin, but it does nothing for the heat still crawling up my neck. My breath stays caught somewhere between my chest and throat, stuck like a stone. I’m not sure I'm breathing properly because what the hell was I thinking? Leaning into him like that? My body clearly has no loyalty. If he hadn’t walked away—God, if he hadn’t—I don’t know what would’ve happened. A kiss? Worse? Better? My mind spirals.
  • It wouldn't have stopped at a kiss. I wouldn't have been able to stop at a kiss. It's just one line, and once we cross it, all hell be damned. At least, I don't have to question if I'm going crazy about what I feel and what we seem to share. He seems to be feeling it too. He seems to share the same feeling, if not worse.
