Chapter 54
- SEAN
- I wake early, earlier than I should, before the sun has finished dragging its light across the skyline. My calendar for the day is blocked with back-to-back meetings, a string of check-ins and investor calls lined up like dominoes. I don't get up right away, but when I do, it’s to silence the buzz of my phone with one groggy swipe. If only I can sleep some more but that would just be me setting myself up for a headache.

She’s wearing a surgical mask and looks like death in designer loungewear. I take a double take eyeing her. She's sick and sick and she shouldn't be working.
