  • I raced through the crumbling castle, carrying Jennifer on my back, her weight light but her unconsciousness unnerving. The ground trembled beneath us as the ancient structure began to give way. I could hear stones falling behind us, crashing into the ground, echoing through the empty hallways.
  • "Lucian, are we close?" Arabelle asked breathlessly as she ran beside me, trying to match my pace.
  • "This way!" I growled, leading her toward a side passage. I could see a door ahead, an exit that would lead us out of this cursed place. Hope flickered in my chest, but only for a moment.
