- I woke up with a start to find my phone ringing on the bedside table.
- I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and looked at my clock to find it was 3.39 am. The lights were off in my apartment and I’d closed off all windows except one so the air could circulate and keep the room cool. It was already mid November; winter was just around the corner.
