Chapter 24 A Pull I Can't Escape

• After I left Averin’s office, I didn’t head straight to the guest building. I told myself I would, since wandering around this place, where I clearly wasn't welcomed, wasn't going to do me any good, but instead I found myself walking around the east side of the compound, which was the side that looked quieter and less crowded.
• By the time I wandered around for a bit while keeping my head low, it was already nighttime, and most of the pack members had gone in for the night. The halls were quiet, and the only sounds I could hear were the occasional steps of the guards moving around to patrol the place.
