Chapter 68 "You're In Love"

• By nine o'clock at night, Alice was already asleep in her beautiful new crib, Mrs. Rossi was resting, and Matt was still with his grandmother. He had taken a couple of moments to go see Victoria, but he was so absorbed in his conversation with Elizabeth that he couldn't think of anything else.
• From the moment Matt entered his grandmother's room, he could feel the gravity of the situation. The first few hours were spent discussing and reproaching her for never telling him things, for closing herself off in her own world and as an individual, until he realized that it was exactly what he used to do before Victoria came into his life.
• Once this point was clarified, and once he acknowledged his mistake, they moved on to the next topic, "the diagnosis." Refusing to accept that his grandmother's days were numbered, Matt searched through all the medical reports that Elizabeth demanded he see, trying to convince her to authorize him to take her to a specialist. However, she was tired of visiting doctor after doctor, of repeating her story with alcohol, depression after her daughter's death, and her excesses.
