Chapter 43

• Suying balled a fist in her mouth to stifle a yawn. She had worked a long week of no breaks, and even though it was Saturday, she still had a half shift to get through. Picking up the banana milk her little princess loved the most adding it to her basket with the candy and chips she had already selected. Her rewards for being a brave girl today and wandering the aisle aimlessly. She was glad to get a break from the hospital, even if it was to grab snacks and meet Meilei and Ling at the main entrance. Today was test day, and they had waited until the last day of the court-ordered timeline, delaying it as much as possible.

• Her cell rang, and she distractedly slid it out of her scrubs pocket and answered, seeing Ling's name.
