Chapter 12 Was He Possessed?

  • “What do you want?” Christopher said exasperatedly.
  • “Pay!” Sean wore an irritated expression before adding, “You must pay back!”
  • Is he trying to blame it on me now? Christopher thought to himself as he frowned.
  • He was unsure whether or not he caused the button to fall off, but Versace?
  • You must be joking!
  • Although Christopher didn’t have the luxury to wear clothes from that brand, he had seen Luna wearing it various times. Anyone could tell that from the fabric and quality that Sean’s shirt was highly likely counterfeit products that were often sold in roadside stalls. 200 bucks was the ceiling price for it. Moreover, people who could afford to wear such luxurious brands wouldn’t bother about such petty issues.
  • Unwilling to argue with Sean, Christopher simply brushed past him, wanting to walk away.
  • Just as he attempted to do so, Sean grabbed Christopher’s collar before saying, “Hey, are you trying to escape?”
  • “Listen up, you punk! You must pay me back today. Otherwise, believe it or not, I’ll get my men to finish you,” Sean exclaimed with a persistent look.
  • “Why don’t we forget about it?” At this time, Samantha spoke up as she felt bad for Christopher. She said softly, “Don’t put him in such a tight spot…”
  • “Shut up!” As Sean was already mad, his anger was fueled when Samantha tried to help Christopher. “Do you still want to cure your mother? If you do, you better keep quiet!”
  • Sean was fuming. He couldn’t believe that this brat had the guts to speak up for an outsider! Later on, he would be sure to torture her. He even had ideas on how he would play with her when they got in bed.
  • Shifting his gaze toward Christopher, Sean snapped, “You punk, I’m warning you for the last time! You better pay up or I’ll get my men to come over. When it gets to that, you won’t be able to settle with just paying money.”
  • Sean thought that this man seemed inexperienced and naive. Sean imagined that it would be easy to con some quick cash from Christopher with some threats. Threatening someone was no big deal for Sean anyway as he was experienced in doing such things.
  • Hence, Sean began to feel that it was his lucky day today. Not only would he get to devour a young lady, but he would also get a few hundred bucks. It was a lucky day indeed.
  • To his surprise, Christopher did not become scared after hearing his threats. Instead, he looked at Sean with a discriminating look like he could care less. What was going on?
  • What a dumb*ss! With a laugh, Christopher thought that he could not think of a better word to describe Sean. He bet that someone who wore counterfeit clothing didn’t know any truly powerful people. In other words, Sean was highly likely a conman.
  • It was good to get along with people, but Christopher would be a coward to keep giving in to such bullies.
  • Despite not wanting to get into unnecessary trouble, he was not afraid to stand up against a liar like Sean. Since Sean dared to try conning him, Christopher didn’t mind exposing him.
  • As these thoughts ran through his head, Christopher turned his cold expression into a warm smiling face before opening the Truth Juice in his hands. Handing it to Sean, he said, “Don’t get mad! Drink this first. We can talk things out after.”
  • “Who wants to talk things out with you?” Pushing away the beverage that Christopher offered, Sean raged, “Just pay up quick! I don’t have the time to play your games!” Sean took Christopher’s good attitude as a sign of compromise. At this time, he had to take the advantage and keep pressuring Christopher. However, Sean was also rushing to get to Samantha’s home; he could not wait to get to the part where they slept together, so he didn’t want to waste too much time with Christopher.
  • “Isn’t it a little tasteless to bring up money? Why not drink this beverage to quench your thirst first?” Once again, Christopher offered Sean the Truth Juice.
  • “Are you seriously trying to settle this with a can of beverage? Don’t even think about it! Pay up now!” Turning his head to a side, Sean showed his complete disinterest in the beverage.
  • That made things hard for Christopher. He wanted to settle things more sophisticatedly, but it seemed that things could no longer remain that way anymore.
  • So, Christopher splashed the juice on Sean’s face with a flick of his wrist.
  • The sound of the splash could be heard by all the three people present.
  • At once, Sean was drenched. On a side note, the introduction of the Truth Juice was not exaggerated at all; there were really pulps and bits of fruits within as they were now stuck on Sean’s glasses.
  • Instinctively, Sean licked the substance that was on his face. The next second, he yelled as he pointed at Christopher, “You punk! Are you sick of living? Do you know who I am?!”
  • “Who are you?” A coy smile graced Christopher’s lips as he gazed at Sean.
  • “I am…” With a pause, Sean continued, “I am a trainee doctor at Quarry Hill Hospital. Do you know that?”
  • “Oh, a trainee doctor!” Christopher put on a look as if a realization just dawned upon him. “Why? Is that supposed to be very impressive?”
  • As soon as those words left Sean’s mouth, he regretted it deeply. What was that? Why did I tell the truth all of a sudden? I wanted to say I’m the head of the Quarry Hill Hospital…Why did I expose myself?
  • “Didn’t you say that you’re the head of the Quarry Hill Hospital? Why are you saying that you’re a trainee doctor now?” Hearing what Sean said, Samantha was stumped for a moment before she asked suspiciously. She remembered clearly that Sean said he was the head of the Quarry Hill Hospital, and he could cure her mother’s illness. That was why she was willing to fulfill the man’s ridiculous demands, including him going to her house tonight. Why was he suddenly a trainee doctor now?
  • “It’s true that I’m a trainee doctor, but my father is…” Sean was quick to explain as he sensed that Samantha had become dubious of his identity. He was planning to say that his father was the head of Quarry Hill Hospital instead, but what came out of his mouth differed. “My father is a convicted rapist!”
  • Holding up his thumb, Christopher wanted to commend Sean for being so honest. Honesty was rare nowadays after all.
  • “Convicted rapist?” Obviously, Samantha became even more confused. It seemed as if she was starting to realize something as she was looking at Sean differently.
  • On the other hand, Sean was dying to slap himself right then and there. Why did he spill the beans again? He was supposed to be a professional conman. What was going on? Was he possessed?
  • Something was wrong! Something was definitely wrong!
  • Of course something was wrong!
  • At this point, Christopher was busy stifling a laugh. He didn’t expect the Truth Juice to be so effective. It was definitely well worth the 1 thousand likes he spent to get this can of juice.
  • “How much does your shirt cost?” Christopher shifted the topic to the so-called Versace shirt that cost tens of thousands.
  • “150,” Sean replied honestly.
  • “Where did you buy it?”
  • “A roadside stall near the East Coast.”
  • “Why did you say it costs tens of thousands earlier?”
  • “I thought you seemed gullible, so I was trying to scan some money out of you.” Sean revealed everything, unable to control what was coming out of his mouth.
  • “Incredible!” With a wide smile, Christopher eyed Sean as if he was a toy.
  • At once, Sean covered his mouth. What was going on? Why was he telling all the truths? Not understanding what was happening to himself, he resorted to covering his mouth so that he could no longer say another word. This way, he wouldn’t slip up.
  • However, Christopher did not make things go his way.
  • “What’s your name?” Christopher asked.
  • “Sean Walker.”
  • “Where do you live?”
  • “South Bay area, house number 21.”
  • “What’s the password to your bank card?”
  • “158XXX.”
  • “Do you carry any disease?”
  • “Yes!”
  • “What do you have?”
  • “I have a sexual disease, kakostomia and constipation!”
