Chapter 11 Emerald City

  • "Teacher, why don't you come with us today?" Seraphine asked, frowning as she walked towards the mansion.
  • "I just need to fix something, but before your birthday, I will be there," Teacher Mayer explained.
  • "Just be careful," Seraphine instructed.
  • "Child, you seem to have forgotten who I am and what I can do. You have to be careful and remember my instructions," Teacher Mayer said.
  • When they arrived, the maids boarded the bus with them. In comparison, the Alpha's family entered a large, fancy car.
  • "Seraphine, ride with me!" Smiling, Samantha greeted her.
  • "Samantha! Your friend is not qualified to ride in the car with you and your father!" Luna Elizabeth retorted while looking at Seraphine with disgust,
  • "Samantha, it's okay; I prefer to join the maids," Seraphine pointed to the servants. She ignored the insults of Samantha's mother.
  • "Okay, see you later!" Samantha replied sadly. She can sense the disgust of her mother towards Seraphine, which is why she can't help but frown. "Mom, I'll remind you that Seraphine is not a servant. She's my friend, and the reason she came along is because of me!" Samantha uttered as soon as they entered the car.
  • "I don't know why you're befriending someone with no background!" Luna Elizabeth replied, annoyed at Samantha and Seraphine's friendship.
  • "Then who will be my friend? The rich who know nothing except having fun with their family's wealth?" Samantha replied bitterly.
  • "When we arrive at Crystal city, get away from your uneducated friend! You will be Alpha Elijah's Luna, so fix your manner!" Elizabeth exclaimed.
  • "Enough, both of you! You're always fighting. When we come to Crystal city, I don't want to hear a word from you two. What a pain to the ears!" Wiliam exclaimed. His voice sounded like thunder. So Samantha and Elizabeth immediately stopped their argument and just kept quiet.
  • "Samantha, even though Seraphine is your only friend, I don't want you to waste time with her! I want you to use this time to win Elijah's heart! Do you understand?" Wilbert ordered after a minute of silence.
  • "Yes, father," Samantha answered.
  • "And you, Elizabeth! Stop wearing revealing clothes. We're not in our city, so be elegant! Act as an ideal Luna! What if Samantha is criticized because of you?!" William said while glaring at Elizabeth from head to toe.
  • Elizabeth looked at her husband, but she didn't say a word. Silence enveloped their vehicle. And William preferred it, as it allowed him to think clearly.
  • Down the road, in the bus where Seraphine was sitting. The servants were happy and excited by their destination. Especially the girls.
  • "Girls, when we get there, don't bother to make yourself beautiful! Remember, Seraphine is with us; no one will notice you!" An annoying comment came from the back seats.
  • "Hmmm, Seraphine needs one man. When she finds her mate, all the men there will be free!" One of the women answered.
  • "I don't think Seraphine's mate is there. With her beauty and strength, I'm sure her mate is Alpha!" One of the maids stated.
  • Carol held Seraphine's hand. "Don't involve this child in your fight. Seraphine already found her mate, so you can breathe easy because she is no longer competing to win the men in the city," she declared with a smile.
  • "Really? Who? Which pack does he rule?" Came the curious questions of the servants.
  • Seraphine just smiled and didn't say a word. Even though she wanted to be proud of her mate, she couldn't because she didn't know his name and pack.
  • "Sleep first, for the trip is still long," Carol suggested.
  • "Carol, if I haven't been with you for a long time, I would think Seraphine is your daughter," The person next to them said with a grin.
  • Carol and Seraphine smiled.
  • During the trip, most of the passengers fell asleep. Even Carol fell asleep while Seraphine's head was leaning on her shoulder.
  • "Everyone, wake up! We have arrived at our destination!" Shout the driver's companion.
  • The servants immediately prepared their equipment. In comparison, the maidens made sure that their appearances were presentable.
  • "Seraphine, wake up," Carol whispered because Seraphine was still sound asleep.
  • "It's different when you know you're beautiful. You don't have to put on make-up or even look in the mirror because you're sure your angelic face is always presentable," commented one of the girls with envy.
  • The bus stopped behind the mansion, where rooms were reserved for them.
  • The alpha family stopped in front, and uniformed guards greeted them as the red carpet was laid before their path.
  • "If we stay in this mansion, what will happen to grandma and aunt?" Seraphine whispered as she walked and followed the servants into their lodgings.
  • "Don't worry, Teacher Mayer will take care of that," Carol replied, smiling, and entered the room intended for her.
  • Seraphine was about to enter when she saw a man at the end of the hallway. "It's him," she exclaimed.
  • Seraphine was about to run when someone blocked her path. "And where are you going? That hallway is inaccessible to servants like you!"
  • Seraphine backed away and looked at what was blocking her path. The guy was in a guard uniform, so she was sure he was working in the mansion.
  • "I'm sorry, I think I saw my acquaintance," she replied politely.
  • "Maybe you made a mistake. Only the Alpha and the nobleman can go to that place," the guard answered seriously and shooed her.
  • Seraphine sighed. Maybe because she wanted to see her mate so desperately, she saw his shadow everywhere. She entered the room that her mother Carol had entered. In the car, they had talked to their companions about being in the same room together.
  • At the mansion, Elijah was running fast. He had forgotten about the arrival of the people of the Blood Moon pack. Since he returned to the castle, Elijah had never left himself idle. He often ran in the woods or sparred with his packs. He avoided being alone because he, in loneliness, always thought of his mate, whom he was trying but failing to forget.
  • Elijah's other problem was his wolf... After leaving his mate, his wolf wanted to tear him apart. So now Elijah even made a fool of himself, because it suddenly came out and seemed to want to fight.
