• Upon waking up in the morning, I was a little confused. The last thing I remembered was that I was about to rip my sister a new one in the conference room. In the process of prying my eyes open, I was a bit disoriented as I was lying in my own bed. My eyes were closed and I was trying to remember what had happened in the conference room as I closed them. There was a guard who separated my sister and me, then there was the bee sting. Our bodies had been injected with a serum that knocked us out. There's no denying it! It is no secret that my father has always kept a lot of that hidden from me to keep the crazy Alphas in check.
• The realization dawned on me that I was in my own bed. It must be frightening for Claire to see that I am in the same bed as her. Looking across the bed to Clair's side, I look at what she is doing. The sheets on Claire's bed are cold, and she's not on her side of the bed. My conclusion shouldn't be based on a single observation. It would have been possible for her to spend the night in her mother's room.
