  • From the deep shadows, my keen eyes observed Rhys' pace in the woods. The moon had emerged, just at the last fade of the sun. It glowed in the forest, and at the borders between Silver Moon Pack and the Night Howlers stood Rhys, awaiting. Yes, he was expecting my arrival. Perfect, just the way I had planned it.
  • I stepped out from my quarters, and I made it clear no one would notice me by wearing a cloak blended with the darkness. “Rhys,” I called him on reaching his side, and inflicting fear in him through the urgency of my opinion.
  • He spurned around, narrowing his eyes. He recognized me. I had sent him an urgent note without disclosing my identity, and now we are here for that purpose. “What do I achieve through this meeting? What do you want?” he asked.
