Chapter 31 Harmless
- Friedrich's POV.
- Humans. Loud, careless, and so fucking annoying. Ridge College reeks of their negligence—burnt coffee that makes my jaw tighten, their oblivious chatter as I wade through unnoticed, and their sluggish reactions to almost everything. Yet somehow, they manage to be a significant threat to our existence. It isn’t hard to figure out why; the reasoning is as predictable as it is exhausting. People fear what they don’t understand. What they fear, they judge as evil. What they judge as evil, they try to control. And what they can’t control—they tend to attack.
- Kieran growls inside my head, restless and irritated, his voice scraping against my mind like a sharp object on a metal surface. “Handle this quickly,” he snaps. “Kill anyone who knows. What are their lives worth anyway?”
