Chapter 23 Pressing Down

• Friedrich’s POV
• The rays of the morning sun struggle to pierce through the forest trees, casting long, uneven shadows over the clearing where the pack has gathered. All their voices combined barely cut through the mess of thoughts swirling in my head.
• Ethan was so damn close to dying last night, and then we somehow ended up in a stupid fight for dominance. Not that it was really a fight—he didn’t last more than a few seconds before I had him cowering and whimpering, but still, what a mess.
