Chapter 28 Run Until It Hurts
- “Don’t fucking follow me!”
- I don’t know who I’m yelling at—my Mom, the Alpha, or the universe—but the words rip out of me, and I’m already gone, sprinting down the hall like the floor’s on fire. I shove through the front doors of the school, tearing down the steps two at a time. My lungs scream, but I refuse to stop. If I stop, I’ll think. If I think, I’ll break.
- The pavement blurs. Then it’s gravel. Then dirt. Then the forest swallows me up whole.
