• Alpha Scott was doing it on purpose. I knew he was. No one “accidentally” drove this slow for this long unless their entire existence was dedicated to psychological warfare. And if anyone fit that description, it was him.
• He didn’t even look irritated by the crawl of the car. If anything, he looked relaxed. Calm. Like dragging out this trip was some twisted form of entertainment. Maybe watching me silently combust in the passenger seat was his new hobby.
