- I sat on the bed, still staring blankly into the air. It has already been an hour since I regained consciousness, but I haven’t uttered a word since then. In fact, I don’t even understand what people say when they talk to me.
- “Oh, my poor Rachel.” Avery stormed into the room with tears streaming down her cheeks. She rushed into my embrace, but I didn’t even bother to hug her back.
- She disengaged the hug after a few seconds, and stared at me for a while before turning to Rhoda, who was sitting beside me, crying. “What happened, Miss Rhoda? Why isn’t she saying any word? What is going on?”
