• Dustin knocked firmly and loudly at the front door. He liked this part of his job, even though his clientele didn't. This was the part where he showed he had power over his customers. He had the ability to condemn or free them. And Audrey was in such a predicament. She owed Dustin’s employer money... a lot of money... and had been delinquent for the past four months. Dustin had been tolerant at first of the single mom, realizing the woman was trying to make ends meet, trying to keep her head above water. But business was business.
• Normally Dustin wouldn't have let someone get this far behind in their payments to him. But Audrey, and her daughter Emma, were special. He wanted as much leverage as he could if he was going to get what he really wanted from them. It wasn't normal that he'd bargain with his customers, but he was definitely going to, in this case.
