Chapter 1 A Sad Story

  • Hafid Aziz had been a millionaire since birth, born to wealthy parents and obviously the heir to his family's oil businesses.
  • Before turning fifteen, he learned that he would marry the beautiful Rachel Sabarat, who, despite being only fourteen years old, was already showing signs of becoming a very beautiful woman.
  • The wedding was scheduled for Rachel's eighteenth birthday and Hafid's twenty-third, as he was five years older than his fiancée. He was a jovial and fun-loving man who greatly enjoyed equestrian sports.
  • As a family, they had a collection of purebred horses, which Hafid had constant access to as he was an excellent rider.
  • The happy moment arrived for Hafid. He loved his fiancée very much; she was flirtatious, lively, and had a talent for conversation. Ever since he met her at the age of fourteen, he had been smitten with the girl.
  • On that day, his future wife was dressed in a beautiful white wedding gown that accentuated her beauty. He couldn't ask for more in life; he was completely in love with his bride.
  • The wedding day went perfectly, from the wedding reception to the honeymoon. His wife was perfect for him, and he loved her madly.
  • Soon, they were living in their own house in a prestigious location in the United States. They had no rush to become parents; he wanted to fully enjoy his wife, and having children was not a priority for them.
  • Two years passed, and still no children. But the following year, when Rachel turned twenty-one, she came with the exciting news that they would be parents, not just to one baby, but to two.
  • It was a wonderful thing for the couple. Nine months later, Amira and Farid came into their lives, a beautiful girl and a precious little boy who stole their father's heart.
  • He couldn't believe his blessings. When their babies were six months old, his beautiful wife had regained her figure, and a few months later, his father suffered a sudden and fatal heart attack, leaving Hafid devastated.
  • All the responsibility of the business fell on Hafid's shoulders. It was not the same as managing a department in the company; now he had to lead a financial monster. But he needed to move forward with everything that had been entrusted to him.
  • Every morning at eight-thirty, he left his house, leaving his babies and wife alone for the entire day. Sometimes he would make it up to them with lunches at home, other times by taking them out to eat. He always tried to spend quality time with his family.
  • Now that his babies were one year old and starting to take their first steps, Rachel had the help of a nanny who took care of the children.
  • That morning, as always, Hafid left at the same time, leaving his beautiful wife and still-sleeping babies behind.
  • While at the office, he realized he had left a folder with important documents and his mobile phone at home.
  • It was already past 10 in the morning, and he thought about asking the driver to go home and retrieve those things, but in the end, he decided to do it himself. The driver immediately took him home.
  • When he entered, he saw the girl in the living room, how her eyes opened in astonishment when she saw him, and she became very nervous. She offered to find what he needed and offered to take care of the babies as a favor.
  • He furrowed his brow, something was not right, something strange was happening. He approached the room; Hafid had his folder in the study, as well as his phone.
  • But the girl's attitude alerted him greatly. As he approached the room, he heard laughter and a conversation. He didn't understand what was happening.
  • Did his wife have a meeting in the room? He listened carefully before entering and heard the familiar voice of a man. A chill ran down his spine and settled in his stomach.
  • He opened the door wide, he couldn't believe what his eyes were seeing; his Rachel was being taken by a man who wasn't him, and the worst part was that it was his best friend.
  • He stood petrified, witnessing such a painful and overwhelming scene. Finally, he was able to react, and Hafid shouted:
  • "Rachel! What does this mean?"
  • His wife couldn't believe that her husband was standing at the door of the room. She immediately tried to explain what had no explanation. It was only necessary to see the scene to guess what was happening.
  • The man dressed as quickly as he could, also trying to explain what was happening. Hafid shouted:
  • "Please, Daniel, get out of here!"
  • The man ran away without trying to explain anything. Hafid stared at Rachel with pain in his eyes, asking for a reason for such a horrible betrayal.
  • "I'm waiting, Rachel," said Hafid.
  • "What's going on? Why are you doing this? What did I do wrong?"
  • "No, Hafid," said Rachel. "It's not something bad that you've done. It was just my mistake. I let myself get caught up in Daniel's flirting, and it happened."
  • "How long have you been sleeping with my best friend, Rachel?" Hafid asked.
  • "It only happened today, I swear," said Rachel. "It had never happened before, my love."
  • "Rachel, I want to believe," he said, "but something tells me it's not the first time."
  • "I swear to you, it's not!" Rachel exclaimed.
  • "I'm going to the study to get what I came for," said Hafid. "We'll talk tonight."
  • She nodded her head in agreement. He left and took his folder and phone, and he met the woman who helped with the children.
  • "I want you to be gone when I come back home tonight," Hafid said.
  • "Sir, I need my job. I couldn't do anything. She paid me not to tell you anything," the woman said.
  • "How long has she been sleeping with Daniel?" Hafid asked.
  • "Four months, sir," the woman replied.
  • "Alright, we'll talk tonight," he said.
  • She felt with her head, and he left without looking back. A few minutes later, Rachel came out with two suitcases from her room.
  • "Where are you going, ma'am?" the nanny asked.
  • "I'm leaving this damn house," Rachel said, "I'm leaving with Daniel."
  • "And the children?" the woman asked.
  • "They belong to Hafid, not me," Rachel said, "let him keep them."
  • "But you're their mother, ma'am!" the woman said.
  • "Daniel is here, he came for me," Rachel said, "I'm leaving with him, you understand, I love him, I want to be with him, not with Hafid."
  • "Ma'am, think things through," the woman said.
  • "Everything is already decided!" Rachel said.
  • Daniel entered the house and said to Rachel:
  • "We can't be together!"
