Chapter 9 New Money

  • Losing my job was a blow I never saw coming. One moment, I was thriving at the tech startup I had poured my heart into; the next, I was packing up my desk, wondering how I was going to make ends meet. Rent was due in a week, and my savings were laughably thin. Reality hit hard and fast.

When I finally arrived, the sight of the house brought a bittersweet pang to my chest. It was exactly as I remembered it—old, worn, but filled with memories.
