- Dallas didn’t exhale until she had left the hotel. If she hadn’t taken advantage of the moment when the man was on a call, she wasn’t sure how she would have faced such a dominant Alpha. After all, their encounter had been fleeting—a chance crossing of paths that time would eventually wash away like footprints in snow.
- She returned to her den, collected her thoughts, shut off her comm-sigil, locked the doors, and burrowed under her furs. Sleep claimed her quickly, deep and uninterrupted.
