- Two hours after our bodies collided and spent themselves, Dallas lay boneless against my chest. Her breathing dragged softly across my skin, warm and uneven from the way her wolf had fought mine for dominance before surrendering. Even exhausted, she smelled like snowfall settling over cedar and wild frost. Her scent stroked along my instincts in a slow claiming.
- I reached for a cigarette. A small habit I rarely indulged in. The flame touched the edge of the tobacco, then I paused.
