• "I'm innocent, I tell you! They've framed me!" cried Grayson, his voice filled with desperation and fear. "I've always done business the right way, but there are those who see my honesty as a threat to their corrupt ways. They've stolen my daughter, destroyed my reputation, and torn apart everything I've worked for. I'm a man without allies or power, and they could end my life in an instant without consequence."
• I stared at the desperate Grayson, my mind racing. Those corrupt bastards were everywhere, on the dark or the light side. They want to rule the world in a dirty way, and getting rid of clean people who don't want to get their hands dirty is what they usually do to keep things under control.
