Chapter 16 A Secret Agent

• "If you're going on business, why don't you take Dean instead of me? You're in recovery and I won't be able to do anything to protect you, you know that," I said as I followed Skye into the dark, narrow alley. He obviously lied to me about going to a fun place.
• "Do you think Dean will protect me if I go with him?" Skye asked as he turned to me. It seemed like he finally realized that his long footsteps had left me behind, and he slowed down until I could keep up.
• "Of course he'll protect you. Isn't that why he became your bodyguard and follows you everywhere?" I asked back in confusion, but that only made him snort to deflect his laughter as he shook his head slightly.
