Chapter 12 Clyde Faces Humiliation!

  • Upon hearing Felix's words, a joyful expression illuminated Odessa's face before she made her way to the center of the living room. "Dear friends and family, I'm thrilled to have you all gathered here today at Dove Manor to celebrate my engagement with Felix. But before we dive into the festivities, there's something important I need to address," she announced, her voice carrying across the room.
  • A hush fell over the crowd as all eyes turned to her. "As many of you are aware, three years ago, my grandfather, battling senile dementia, insisted that I marry Clyde. Out of respect for him, I agreed to the union," Odessa continued with a slightly pensive expression.
  • "Little did I realize that Clyde, the man I wed to honor my grandfather's wishes, would prove to be utterly vile. He infuriated and exacerbated my grandfather's condition with his actions. Moreover, Clyde also pretended to mix up my sister and me. He repeatedly tried to make a move on her," she explained, tears welling up in her eyes, stirring sympathy and anger among the crowd.
  • Caught off guard by Odessa twisting the narrative to make him the bad guy, Clyde felt a surge of revulsion at her manipulative tactics. However, he couldn't be bothered to defend himself. He saw right through her charade to retain her pristine image, viewing her as a pathetic figure resorting to theatrics for sympathy.
  • "Thankfully, during this trying period, Felix has remained steadfast by my side. Therefore, before we proceed with me and Felix's engagement ceremony, I'll formally divorce Clyde and remove him from the Dove family," Odessa declared firmly, glaring at Clyde furiously and addressing him directly. "Clyde Valor, I now divorce you. Don't you dare threaten my family again. Step forward and sign the divorce papers."
  • As all eyes turned to Clyde, the crowd's attention shifted, with many casting scornful glances his way. "So, this is the scoundrel? He deserves severe punishment for his deeds so he won't harm others," someone remarked. "Indeed, he was fortunate to have Odessa as his wife, yet he failed to appreciate her."
  • "Sadly, this is the typical behavior of the impoverished. They're deceitful and unworthy of a better life," someone muttered disdainfully, echoing the crowd's sentiments.
  • Clyde was dumbstruck. Despite the insults hurled at him, he remained stoic, although his spirit was weighed down by the barrage of scorn. Walking to Odessa, he spoke softly, "I'll sign the divorce papers. Our ties are officially severed."
  • 'Whack!' Felix forcefully shoved Clyde forward. "Didn't Dessa tell you to step forward?" he jeered, his tone dripping with contempt.
  • Suddenly, a fleet of luxury Maybachs tore onto Dove Manor's grounds. The doors swung open to reveal a group of ominous figures dressed in black. Their presence sent a chill through the air, the atmosphere thick with tension, silencing members of the Dove and Briese families.
  • Felix put on a bold face and stepped forward to confront the intruders, demanding answers. "Who are you? Who allowed you…" His words were cut short as one of them swiftly struck him. Felix, who had flaunted his skills earlier, couldn't even retaliate before he was attacked, leaving him sprawled on the ground. He was injured and subdued as blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.
  • Amid the chaos, a woman dressed in pristine white glided into the room, her presence catching everyone's attention. Felix's words faltered as he froze in shock at the sight of her. This young woman, barely in her twenties, possessed a graceful figure, fair skin, bright eyes, and long, cascading hair, exuding a naturally dignified demeanor.
  • At the sight of her, a wave of astonishment washed over the room, leaving everyone entranced by her ethereal beauty. At that moment, one thought echoed in their minds. She's gorgeous! She's utterly breathtaking! Even Odessa and Olina, accustomed to being admired for their beauty, couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy.
  • Ignoring the stunned onlookers, the woman made a beeline for Clyde, entirely focused on him. Crouching beside him, she gently extended a hand to help him up, her voice soft with concern. "Clyde, are you alright?"
  • Clyde gazed at the woman in disbelief, his surprise evident. "Willa, how did you get here?"
  • With a sweet smile, Willa replied, "Didn't we agree to have dinner together at my place tonight?"
