Chapter 8 Confused

  • I ignored it but I continued when I heard the horn again and now the driver came down and I was surprised to see Gio. That's why the car is familiar, that's what was parked outside the restaurant. I didn't see his car properly before.
  • Only now did I also notice that he was only wearing simple clothes. He was wearing a white t-shirt paired with black pants with sunglasses. I felt my heart beat faster as I saw him approaching me.
  • He was already speaking in front of me but nothing entered my mind not until I noticed that I was already sitting on his car.
  • "Why did you put me here in your car? I'm coming down, sir." I was about to open the car when he took my hand.
  • "No."
  • "But—"
  • "I am your boss, stupid. Just shut up." I just kept quiet because he said besides this free ride, will I waste it. I looked outside as we headed back to the restaurant. "What are you doing on the sidewalk? Did you know how hot it is, right now?" I didn't say a word and only nodded.
  • "Damn, why are you not speaking? I am asking you? Why are you walking instead of riding your car and speaking of car, where did you park your fucking car?" I still didn't say anything because he was the one who told me not to say anything. "Damn it, Trix!"
  • Dug..dug..dug ..
  • I felt my heart beat faster when I heard what he was calling me then. I sighed before facing him, keeping his eyes on the front.
  • "Sir, haven't you told me that I should keep quiet? Why am I walking? Obviously, I don't have a car anymore." I saw how he glanced at me. That's why I avoided his gaze. I saw that he had parked the car so I turned to him, "Giovanni, everything changed the day you left me for my… step-sister." I saw how shocked he was. Of course, he thought I didn't know but I knew and Anika knew that too so she walked away.
  • “H-How did..you–”
  • “Of course I am but I am a martyr at that time. I don't care how many times you treat me as if I am not your wife because that's how much I love..you. I don't care that you had a sex before our marriage to Anika, I endure all of that because that's how much I love during the days you treat me as no one. During the past three years… you treat me like trash, you said to me that I am nonsense like trash and now..I am really trash. Happy? Of course, you are." He was about to touch my face when I dodge his hand.
  • “What… do you mean?” Instead of answering, I opened the car door and left. When I entered the kitchen, my tears were stamped but I immediately wiped them away. I’m back to making cupcakes. I sigh as I tried to remove what I said to Giovanni. Gio is smart and I know from now that he will badly curious now.
  • Giovanni's POV
  • “What… do you mean?” He didn't even answer my question. I remained stunned in the passenger seat. I don't know but it hurts me to see her in that state. I just realized myself driving the car again towards Levian’s Cafe. I know people around me know something about what has happened to her over the past three years.
  • "Bro, why are you here again." I could see Levi's shock on his face. All he knew was that I would never come back because I had a lot of papers waiting on the table in my office.
  • "Let's talk." He looked at me a few more times before sighing.
  • "Okay." I sat in the farthest chair near the window. I waited for Levi while thinking about what possibilities had happened to her but I couldn’t think of anything. I don’t know but there is something inside me that tells me to find out what happened just like Zach told me when we last met.
  • "Cold Iced Caramel Macchiato and caramel cupcake for the bad mood man." I glared at him before he placed the coffee and the cupcake on the table. A few minutes first I was silent, wondering what I should say.
  • "Spill the tea, man." I sighed and fell silent again. Earlier we didn't talk because I just looked at our supplies and about the company where he handles the materials. “Is this about Anika?” I did not answer and remained silent. Every time her name is mentioned I don’t seem to remember that she hurt me or that I was hurt because of her. The content of my mind was concentrated on Beatrix especially when I saw the tears forming in her brown eyes. It's also hard to say that I love her and then eventually I'll hurt her again. I want to make sure first.
  • "Is this about Beatrix?" I looked up at him when he said that. “Aha! What about her? Do you miss her? ” I sighed again before putting down the coffee.
  • "Levi, what happened after I left." He was stunned and the smiles on his lips suddenly disappeared. My suspicion is correct. Something did happen for three years. "Man, what happened?" He did not speak and just averted his gaze. I was about to speak again when the door suddenly opened so I was filled with hope.
  • “Yow! The great business tycoon is here too. It's a miracle. ” Levi and I stood up to give them a bro hug. "So, is this a miracle?"
  • "Yeah, miracle it is haha." Joe said but then they noticed that something wasn't right. I saw how Levi looked at Kai as if they could understand each other. "Oh, I think I want–"
  • "No one will leave." Joe returned to his seat. I looked at them with a serious expression. "What happened three years ago?" They looked at each other before averting their gaze.
