Chapter 82

  • Audrey kept true to her words. She was blending into the pack and even making friends with the pack members. She was punctual to the training grounds too and it seemed like there was no talking her out of it. Truth is, if I wasn’t carrying this child, I’d have wanted to be a part of the training too, but Slade will hear nothing of it, and the last thing I want to do is put my child in harm’s way. I was daily exercising, and doing all the things the doctor asked, but I could only sit back and watch the others train.
  • I did speak to my dad after my mom’s revelation, and he’d promised to come over to Dark Wolf. We didn’t have much to say over the phone, but I know my mom was right when he said she felt guilty.
  • Things between Slade and I were going better than it has in the last months. He was more relaxed and laughed more than he used to, but there was that awkwardness whenever the topic of his birthday was bought up. So far, no one knew the curse had been broken, and he wanted to keep it that way till after his birthday. The topic still strikes a chord in his nerve, and I wouldn’t even deny I was scared myself.
