• I can’t explain it. I’d thought mating with Sapphire would make her love me, I’d thought she’d forget about whatever she had with any other man in her past the moment she bore my mark. I’d thought she’d be a hundred percent on my side and do my bidding, but she was stubborn. She was fighting the mate bond, she still wants that alpha.
• I feel her emotions now that we share a bond. She’s hurt, and bitter, but she’d never hate him. She wanted him, maybe even more than she wanted me. She’d changed after I marked her though. There’s all the electric currents and sparks when we touch, and she isn’t trying to escape anymore. I released her from those cuffs after marking her knowing she’d not be able to hurt me because she desired me now. But wearing my mark did not stop her from wanting her alpha any less than she did before.
