Chapter 97
- PERLAH'S POV:
- My head spun, from Mercy King's new post to my personal issues. The first wave of pain hit me like a lightning bolt, sharp and unrelenting. I gripped the edge of my desk, my nails digging into the polished wood as I tried to steady my breathing. It was nothing new, this pain. It visited me monthly, like clockwork, but i always had cramps medication to make life easier, and today it seemed worse, as though my body had decided to rebel against me in the most inconvenient way possible.
- Outside, the voices of the reporters rose in a cacophony that only added to my misery. They shouted questions, accusations, and demands, their words blending into an incoherent roar that pounded against the walls of my office like an unending storm.
