• I spent the rest of the day resting. I remembered that Alexa mentioned a book she wanted to read during our text conversations, which stuck with me.
• So, before my shift started, I quickly stopped at a nearby bookstore and picked up the book for her. It was a paranormal romance about werewolves. It was hilarious how people believed that shit.
• I also grabbed a box of chocolates. When I got to her bed, she was asleep. I gently placed the book and the chocolates beside her, careful not to wake her.
