- That afternoon, I was transferred out of the accident and emergency ward to the orthopedic ward. The ride on the stretcher on a larger-than-life elevator made me dizzy to the point that I had to shut my eyes. I opened them when we arrived in a massive ward with several wings branching off in different directions.
- The noise, sterile walls, and smell of antiseptic caused the general feeling of being trapped. They wheeled me into the outer wing, near a large window, and I realized we were probably on the fourth or fifth floor.
