Chapter 4

  • “Mam, who might you be looking for?” The receptionist in the company of Chris’s company asked Sherry as soon as she stepped in side the lobby of the company.
  • It was almost time for the work hours to be over so she was curious when a customer appeared at this time of day.,
  • This was the second time she had visited Chris’s company since both of them were really busy in their own profession and work,
  • The first time she had visited him was when they were engaged a year ago. Her dream of marrying the man she had loved all along was more than enough to snatch her sleep form her.
  • So that day she had given a surprise visit to Chris. She had hoped he will be as happy as she was when he sees her but…
  • The reality was different. He looked at her with aghast expression and even his responses were unnatural and forced.
  • He even shouted at her to not come visit in his office as he detested his workplace being used to flirt and share love like that.
  • “Heh…stupid me.” Sherry mocked herself for believing his words.
  • Thinking about this was more than enough to bring a bitter taste in her mouth.
  • “Miss, your identification?” The lady at the reception once again politely asked the lady before her who seemed to be lost in her thoughts.
  • “Oh, right.” Sherry took of her sunglass in elegant manner which was neither flashy nor crude,’
  • “I am the fiancée of your boss.” She gave a sweet smile. “We are getting married tomorrow.”
  • Sherry had redone her makeup and hair before coming inside the company. Although she would love to present herself in ugly form to humiliate Chris, she still had her dignity as a proud and independent woman.
  • She seemed like a professional lady, a woman with vision so the receptionist did not doubt the credibility of her words but she still could not help but run her mouth.
  • “But miss, he has not said anything about marriage and such.” The receptionist was in charge of inquiries after all. If boss was going to get married than that meant it was a free day for the employees,
  • But no such notice had been given to them till today.
  • “He must have forgotten.” Sherry gave out a forced smile hiding the darkened expression in her heart and face.
  • “He is a very hardworking person after all.” Sherry thought about how hard he was working in the bed trying to satisfy her best friend.
  • “You bet miss. You are lucky you got him.” the receptionist was super excited as she expressed her worship towards the boss of her company.
  • “Heh….I know I am lucky. Very muck lucky.” Sherry agreed with her without any restriction.
  • ‘So he hadn’t told anyone that he is getting married right?’ Sherry thought as she looked at the receptionist who was calling the president office.
  • “Hello President.” The lady gave a slight bow as she smiled like a lark talking to him.
  • “A lady claiming to be your fiancée has just appeared in the lobby. She says she is here for you.” The lady in the reception counted informed the boss in precise and concise manner.
  • After putting down the phone she looked at Sherry with a polit and a little jealousy filled eyes.
  • “He says you can directly go to his office.” She relayed the order of the boss.
  • “Thank you.” Sherry thanked her ignoring the look in her eyes and made her way to the president room for the second time in her life.
  • ………………………..
  • Chris looked at the table which was not messy enough since it had only been used for some minutes, He placed a cup of coffee, few files and papers and engrossed himself in the computer, glaring at the screen intensely.
  • It seemed as if he was writing the formula of atom bomb; judging from the amount of wrinkles in his forehead as his eyes were squinted pretending to be busy, even though all he was doing was scrolling through the twitter and looking at the photos of some hot chic and babes.
  • “Knock…Knock”
  • The door was knocked from outside the door.
  • “Come in.” He cleared his throat as he welcomed the person inside the office.
  • Sherry, dressed in plain but smart clothes entered the room with her pencil heels clicking on the marble floor.
  • “You are really busy honey.” Sherry approached the man slowly and sat in front of him.
  • “Hey, darling~~” Chris was startled by her sudden intimacy in calling him so he also returned her the greeting using an intimate word but it came out rater oddly.
  • “Sorry I have been too busy with work.” He winked at her in a flirty manner and came out of the chair.
  • He walked towards her and extended his hand to hug her, to take her in an embrace.
  • If it had been Sherry a day ago, then she would have jumped on him right now but after what she had seen and witnessed she felt his hug to be chains of restraints that was made for only suffocating her.
  • “I wish you will make some time for me as well.” Sherry spoke in a whisper acting the part of poor maiden when he hugged her but felt her heart scrunch at his forced show of affection.
  • Hugging was the only thing they had done as couple. She realized she even did not have a first kiss.
  • All this time she thought they were waiting for marriage to have kisses and make love but she had finally realized it was her wishful thinking.
  • How blind she was to not realize the real face of the scoundrel who had been cheating on her for so long.
  • She could smell the premium jasmine perfume on him which was favorite of Bella. Tilting her head sideways she saw that there were hickeys on the inner collar of his neck.
  • She was once again reminded of the passionate time they were having together, her heart burning with anger rather than jealousy.
  • “I have time for you now.”
  • Chris gave a charming smile but that had suddenly lost its appeal to her. In place of that she was reminded of the well crafted face of the man she fell on top of at the parking lot today which looked godly even though all she saw was his sharp jawline and high nose bridge making him look like a model straight out of fashion magazine.
  • “Let’s go.” Chris pulled her out of her trance and gestured her to move with him.
  • “Didn’t you say you want a new dress?” He asked with a polite smiley face as if he was a marketing agent from a bride’s gown shop.
  • “Yes, after all its our marriage tomorrow.” Sherry emphasized each words, her mouth and lips curving up in a hooked smirk.
